WORLD ANIMAL DAY: ANIMATRONIC ELEPHANT VISITS SCHOOLS IN INDIA

A life sized animatronic elephant that can blink her eyes and move her ears visited school children in Pune, India to mark World Animal Day on October 4th.

The initiative sets out to tell the life story of 'Ellie' the elephant who endures years in captivity with a circus. As well as giving insight into the reality of life as 'Ellie', the story ends with her being re-homed to a sanctuary.

Since May this year, Ellie has met 27,000 young learners, spreading the message of 'child empathy' for animals.
